As a testament to the care provided daily by the 300-plus nursing, physician, technical, support, management and leadership staff, we are pleased to recognize Cass Medical Center as our May Business of the Month. For more than 40 years, CMC has served the health care needs of Cass County with compassionate and skilled care. With the support of the communities it serves, CMC over the last couple of years has expanded its clinic network (in Pleasant Hill, Peculiar and Drexel), has added additional medical providers (in Harrisonville, Peculiar, Pleasant Hill and Drexel), and has expanded services (full time MRI, sleep lab, and wound care), all in an effort to continue the tradition of providing “Great Care, Right Here.” With the recent adoption of a 2006-2008 strategic plan, CMC has reconfirmed a commitment to expand and grow in order to further meet the healthcare needs of the citizens of our community. To this end, they hope to be announcing later this year, plans associated for an expanded and/or new hospital facility. In addition, CMC is advancing efforts to attract to the area additional primary care, procedural and specialty providers, to enhance their information systems capabilities through development of an electronic medical record, to improve the quality and satisfaction with provided care, and to expand the organization’s service compliment through investing in additional services and diagnostic capabilities/technology — all while ensuring that CMC does not lose touch with the personal care it has and will continue to provide. This acute-care, 49-bed facility combines the warm, caring spirit of a community hospital with the latest advances in medical technology. CMC brings southern Cass County convenient access to emergency, medical and intensive care, general surgery, specialist care, a behavioral health unit, physical and occupational therapy, diabetes education, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and family practice clinics. Emergency physicians are on duty 24 hours a day. The radiology department contains the most advanced technology for MRI, CT scans, nuclear medicine and state-of-the-art ultrasound. Patients receive the best in respiratory, occupational and physical therapy, pain management, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation close to home. Cass Medical Center is the hub for wellness in our community, and the dedicated staff is committed to quality care and health education for our citizens.
