Though we are close to the Kansas City metro area, we are not close when it comes to the price of our real estate...

You’ll find your real estate dollar goes a long way in Harrisonville! Housing prices generally range from $70,000 to $250,000, with some estates valued in excess of $1,000,000. On the average, you’ll find the price of a three-bedroom 1,500 square foot home is about $150,000. New construction costs are about $90 to $110 per square foot. Houses rent for between $700-$1,000 and apartments range from $400 to $750.

Property taxes are reasonable. Our assessed value levy supports the county, city, public schools, hospital, ambulance, public library, career center and recreation center. Our residents are committed to raising the value of what is usually the highest monetary investment of their lifetime, and our city works to help them achieve that goal. City ordinances reflect Harrisonville’s dedication to maintaining the sense of place desired by our citizens.

In Harrisonville, we are happy to be involved.

Great Hires

Our community’s caring relationship is seen in the greeting of one another, the number of benefit gatherings to support the less fortunate, the participation in community blood drives and the number of active volunteers for our youth organizations, senior center and food and clothing distribution centers. We have dozens of clubs and organizations drawing people together to work toward common goals and to pursue common interests.

Our young people develop leadership skills and special talents through the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H, Campfire Girls and Boys and Young Life. Harrisonville NETT is our broad-based community group which brings safe, fun activities to our young people in an effort to prevent the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs.

Adults who enjoy gardening, sports, genealogy, collecting, crafts, performing arts, square dancing, or even activities as diverse as radio-controlled sports or historical reenactments, will find a club that caters to their special interests.

Service organizations such as Rotary International, Kiwanis, Lions, American Legion, VFW, BPW, Elks and Masons provide networking opportunities for businesses and citizens, and also sponsor a variety of local events that benefit local charities and the community.

Harrisonville is a town richly blessed with “helping hands.”
