For those needing assistance on the path to wellness, Cass Medical Center has served our citizens with exceptional, compassionate care for more than 40 years. This acute-care, 49-bed facility combines the warm, caring spirit of a community hospital with the latest advances in medical technology. Emergency and intensive care, general surgery, specialist care, a behavioral health unit, physical and occupational therapy, diabetes education, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, home health and family practice clinics are provided by more than 200 highly-skilled professionals.

Emergency physicians are on duty 24 hours a day and are supported by a staff of nurses who are specially trained in emergency and trauma care. CMC’s radiology department contains the most advanced technology, including MRI, CT scans, teleradiography, low-dose mammography, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, tomography, bone densitronomy and state-of-the-art ultrasound.

Skilled respiratory therapists administer electrocardiograms, cardiopulmonary tests and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians in the treatment of chronic breathing problems and sleep disorders.

Physical and occupational therapy is provided at CMC by LifeWell Services, Inc. Treatment to help patients regain functional use after illness or injury includes various forms of exercise, gait training or therapeutic techniques.

CMC is dedicated to providing good medicine close to home. Many of the Kansas City metropolitan area’s most distinguished specialists provide services at CMC on a regular basis. Specialists are available in cardiology, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat), gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, gynecology, oncology, ophthalmology, pulmonology, pain management and podiatry. Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Departments guide heart patients to recovery from cardiac events and surgery.

Many of our home-bound citizens receive nursing and personal care; speech, physical and occupational therapy; medical services and social services in the comfort of home. The Care Call program offers low-cost devices for summoning emergency assistance.
