HARRISONVILLE BELIEVES IN EDUCATION FOR A LIFETIME. INVALUABLE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY ON EVERY LEVEL.

In its mission to achieve excellence in education, the Harrisonville Cass R-IX school district has been recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for “Distinction in Performance” for three of the last four years. The certified staff’s average teaching experience is 12.4 years, and about 42 percent of the district’s teachers possess a Master’s degree or higher.

Harrisonville R-IX is a school district that is consistently championed by the community. The overwhelming support of bond issues within the last few years has resulted in new classrooms, a new food service and maintenance facility, office complex, auxiliary gymnasium, stadium and Performing Arts Center. Community organizations such as the Harrisonville Public School Foundation, Rotary, Optimists and Kiwanis clubs help the drive toward academic excellence by supporting our schools with additional enrichment opportunities.

In Harrisonville, we are all about the Wildcats! sports events, concerts, plays, assembliesÉthey are all intergenerational events for our community as we come together to support our children.

The
Early Childhood Center provides free education from birth. It houses the Parents as Teachers program which educates over 500 children each year. More than 330 children are enrolled in Preschool and Kindergarten. They also offer a special needs preschool program.

McEowen Elementary is home to third through fifth grade students. Students have access to both a computer lab and a computer science lab, where they conduct experiements as an enhancement to the science curriculum. The school is also home to Mini-MO, an outdoor classroom featuring native plants and flowers, and the Rockford Living History Classroom, a completely restored one-room school.

Harrisonville Elementary has grades one through three. Students learn first-hand about the environment in the outdoor classroom where they study plants and wildlife in natural surroundings.
