WITH A PLETHORA OF COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES, HARRISONVILLE OFFERS BOTH SHOPPERS AND BUSINESSES A PLACE NOT ONLY TO LIVE, BUT TO PROSPER.

Everything you need...

Personal care and drug store locations are near every neighborhood, and when it’s time to shop for groceries, baked goods and other household supplies, you’ll find what you need just around the corner. If you are on the hunt for the best bargain around, we have three resale shops filled with gently-used treasures.

A little bit of luxury is also right at hand. That cup of gourmet coffee, satisfaction for your sweet tooth, and relaxing scented candle can all be found at locally-owned specialty stores right here in Harrisonville. Stroll Harrisonville’s Courthouse Square Historic District with its brick streets and ornamental streetlights. Business owners have decorated their stores with the past in mind. Shop for antiques, grab a brew or have a lovely lunch at a local favorite, the Pearl Street Grill (try the homemade potato chips!).

Harrisonville Crossing is our newest shopping center, where you can find everything from Moo Goo Gai Pan to a 14 karat bling-bling.

Industry...

Home

Whether it’s a drill bit or a diamond, you’ll find what you’re looking for in Harrisonville. Lumber, hardware, paint and flooring stores supply homeowners with home improvement tools and materials. Furniture stores, gift shops and florists provide the interior accessories that make a house a home.

At the Mill-Walk Mall, there’s a great place to eat after you check out the gift and apparel stores and see a movie. During the summer, the growers bring forth true treasures. Get up early Saturday for the best selection of sun-ripened fruit and vegetables at the Farmer’s Market. A draw for shoppers from the Kansas City metro area for over 40 years, the Family Center Farm & Home is a Harrisonville treasure. Truly you can find “something for everyone” in this unique store - in fact, everything you need to shoe a horse, or outfit your daughter on her wedding day!

During the past decade, the City of Harrisonville and the Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce have combined efforts to provide information and services for economic growth. This partnership has proven to be successful.

Employers have a highly skilled workforce at their disposal. Motivated, dedicated workers keep productivity levels consistently above the U.S. average. Employee turnover and absenteeism rates are significantly lower than state and national levels. Downtime and work stoppage due to labor-management disputes are non-existent.

Approximately 65 percent of Cass County workers are employed outside of the county. This indicates a significant demand for jobs closer to home. Harrisonville draws its labor force from as many as 11 counties.

Superb location gives industry the edge when locating in Harrisonville. Three major highways serve the community and intersect in the city limits: U.S. Highway 71, State Highway 291 and State Highway 7 converge to form a highly desirable transportation corridor.

Industry is located within the heart of the city and in the industrial sites. We are home to large employers such as the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Casco Area Workshop, a sheltered workshop for recycling and light assembly; Church & Dwight Company, Inc., manufacturer of soap and detergent products; RB Industries, makers of Hawk specialty woodworking tools; and EaglePitcher Pharmaceutical Services. Industrial sites are available with all services, including rail, at reasonable prices.
